Ocean Kayak Rod Pod Kit

Here is a short review of the new pod kit for the Trident range of Ocean Kayaks. This just arrived yesterday but first impressions are very good

here is a shot of the full pod, you can see the fish measures down the side in both cm and inches, the large holes are to take scotty rod holders with the smaller holes allowing numerous mounting options for gps, compass, water bottle, most things really.

Here is the under side which shows the inserts which the rod holders fit into but also the slots which will hold screw fixings so no sealing is required for any fixings that are made, great idea this

The seal appears very good and with the pod being more rigid than the original i think the seal will be much better

Fixing straps come with the kit as shown but i should just be able to use my existing straps on the Trident

So far i am very happy with the kit and hope it goes on ok which i will know at the weekend when i get the chance to fit.With it being more rigid than the original, allows rod holders and numerous items to be mounted without additional sealing i think its a great upgrade for the trident range.All new 2011 models come with this as standard
